Multi-function Level Transmitter - LevelWizard. Ultrasonic transducers work in conjunction with a transceiver that produces electrical pulses. A piezoelectric crystal located inside the transducer converts these pulses into ultrasonic waves that travel in the direction of the material to be measured. When the pulses hit the process material, an ultrasonic echo is reflected back towards the transducer, which converts them back into electrical pulses. This signal is analysed by the transceiver which performs the level calculation.
• The LevelWizard is the ideal multi-functional non contact instrument for level monitorning and
control in liquid application.
• It can be used in diverse applications including open channel flow monitoring,
comprehensive pump control in wet well and differential and pen-stock control.
• It utilises the latest software system “DATEM” (Digital Adaptive Tracking and Echo Mapping).
This is an entirely new digital technique development. It gives the system an edge over others in
identifying the “true target level” in the face of competing echoes from the pipes, pumps or any
other obstructions.
• The I.S. approval needs an I.S. transducer and then a Zerner barrier to be fitted in the
circuit between I.S. transducer and the level unit. Standard dB6, dB10 and dB15 have EEx “m” for
zone 1 and 2 (no barrier required).
